Why Fish and Forest?
The Fish and Forest Project seeks to explain the link between the disappearance of highly endemic and specialized fishes and the loss of forest. The habitat of many species is threatened by human activities such as mining, logging, agriculture, pollution, hydroelectric projects and development.
Our team was formed to investigate and document the historical changes in the habitat of these threatened aquatic species. We use data from historical aerial photography, satellite imagery, new information captured by UAV and in-situ observations both above and below water.
