We are an international research collaborative based out of the Applied Remote Sensing Lab at McGill University. We use multi-scale Earth Observation for the conservation, assessment and monitoring of freshwater habitats
The freshwater fish fauna of Madagascar is one of the most threatened in the world, many of the 120 endemic freshwater fishes are endangered and some close to extinct in nature. The Fish+Forest Project will attempt to track and register the presence of Malagasy freshwater fish in zoos, public and private aquariums to better understand the total number of each species, and their geographic distribution. In time, these data may be useful to help save a species from extinction, or simply help find more people interested to breed a species in captivity.
